The Historical Society of the Town of Greenwich is very excited about this year’s Antiquarius event, which will run from November 29th through December 5th, 2007. The event is always spectacular, but this year is extra special: Antiquarius is turning 50.

antique-chair.jpgMelinda Sherman, Director of Development for the Greenwich Historical Society, spoke of the upcoming festivities: “For the celebration of our 50th Antiques Show, we are planning a particularly beautiful and diverse show with a number of new and exciting exhibitors.” These exhibitors are world-class, from all over the globe. Sherman promises great diversity in the pieces on display, mentioning everything from antique furniture to French wine-making implements. This 50th celebration show promises to be worth a look.

The Historical Society of the Town of Greenwich uses the proceeds from Antiquarius to host workshops and classes that benefit over 7,000 children in Fairfield and Westchester counties. Some of these programs include educational programs and Artist-in-residence programs. Antiquarius is the society’s most lucrative fundraising event. It starts with a gala party, follows up with an antiques show and designer forum, and concludes with a holiday homes tour and shopping boutique.

Now, this would be a great place to get your hands on some quality furniture. How about some one-of-a-kind end tables or rich reception chairs for your business? If that doesn’t fit your holiday budget, you could at least get some ideas and inspiration for your home or business. Some of the big names showcasing their wares include Peter Pap Oriental Rugs, Ile de France Antiques, and Maxine Antiques of Oakland, CA.

For more information about this event, held at Bush-Holley Historical Site, call the Historical Society of the Town of Greenwich at 203-869-6899, extension 14, or visit www.hstg.org. You can also get tickets by calling the society or visiting their web site. Enjoy!
