It’s often said that the most beautiful resorts are also the most expensive ones. For example, Rania in the Maldives has a price tag of US $10,000 a night. (Of course, that’s for one couple. Additional guests cost $750 per night.) And the Altamer Anguilla’s most affordable villa costs $9,285 a night. But it has to be booked in week-long blocks, so the least you’ll drop there is US $65,000.
That’s wonderful for those who can afford such luxuries, but even non-exclusive hotels can make their guests feel like royalty. Try incorporating different themes into your hotel rooms. Guests who have positive experiences will return to try the different rooms, and will recommend your business to their friends. Some popular themes are western, rain forest, modern, and romantic.
If you’d rather keep the same theme throughout your hotel, go for something that looks classy. If you do a tropical theme, use interesting woods and plants from the Caribbean to add to the realism. Choose commercial hotel furniture made from teak, rattan, or even artistically sculpted driftwood. Cool pastels can be set off beautifully by a dash of spicy red, or a splash of Caribbean blue.
Another lovely way to make your hotel look like a world-class resort is through minimalist modern decor. The idea is to have a mostly white or mostly black interior that is accented by vivid colors. An all-white hotel room or deck looks gorgeous when you add bright flowers, or perhaps a duvet with a colorful needlework design. Filmy curtains with bright, complementary colors also work well with this type of decorative scheme. The sunshine that filters through them makes a perfect natural backdrop.
